tempestry project
Thank you for quality articles, beginning with Valerie Taylor (novelist) in 2006, then Macroom Oatmeal, Charlotte Reeve Conover and Virginia Weiffenbach Kettering, for reviewing articles for creation and good articles, for encouraging a leaving user, for your tempestry project, for "relax, have a drink bubble bath", - Val, you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Redirects
Hi Valereee, re: these edits, for future reference, please see WP:NOTBROKEN. SarahSV (talk) 17:46, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Whoops, sorry! So many policies and guidelines, lol valereee (talk) 18:39, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to hit you with another one, but you made each of those nine edits without marking them as minor (e.g. [1]). Marking such edits as minor allows logged-in users to stop them from showing up on the watchlists. There's a definition of minor at Help:Minor edit: "A good rule of thumb is that edits consisting solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content should be flagged as minor edits." SarahSV (talk) 19:00, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Good to know, I always have worried that marking things as minor makes it look like you're trying to hide something. valereee (talk) 19:10, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Anything that doesn't change the content can safely be marked as minor, unless there's extensive moving around of text. Most editors are grateful to see edits that barely affect the page marked as minor, I think. SarahSV (talk) 19:18, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- I get that. I still get suspicious when I see an edit to a page I'm watching that's marked minor, changes the count by zero, and has an edit that says 'fixed typo.' Unless it's a name I recognize, I always check the diff :D valereee (talk) 19:21, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- By the way, I don't mind now if you want to have the vegan studies draft reviewed. Or we could just move it to mainspace. I don't mind either way. I'm still not entirely clear what it is and how it differs from critical animal studies, but it does seem to be notable enough. I'd quite like not to have to keep working on it. SarahSV (talk) 00:33, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, Sarah! Out of town right now, but I'll be able to give it a once over when I get back, probably sometime Tuesday, thanks! lol don't blame you for wanting to quit working on it, you've put significant time in TTYS valereee (talk) 13:30, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, sounds good. By the way, if you install this magic thing—User:Enterprisey/reply-link (instructions are on the page)—it removes the indenting problem when replying. It's all done automatically, including a signature. SarahSV (talk) 02:57, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
Hi Valereee. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Minor user rights can now be accorded on a time limited or probationary period, so do check back at WP:PERM/NPR in case this concerns your application. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encylopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance. so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 17:57, 24 January 2019 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Elizabeth's Gone Raw logo.png
Thanks for uploading File:Elizabeth's Gone Raw logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:35, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi, a section called "Honors and awards" means just that: honors and awards. If you want to move the honor into the reception section, that's okay. But I don't think the award belongs there. NPR Newsletter No.17
Hello Valereee,
- News
- The WMF has announced that Google Translate is now available for translating articles through the content translation tool. This may result in an increase in machine translated articles in the New Pages Feed. Feel free to use the {{rough translation}} tag and gently remind (or inform) editors that translations from other language Wikipedia pages still require attribution per WP:TFOLWP.
- Discussions of interest
- Two elements of CSD G6 have been split into their own criteria: R4 for redirects in the "File:" namespace with the same name as a file or redirect at Wikimedia Commons (Discussion), and G14 for disambiguation pages which disambiguate zero pages, or have "(disambiguation)" in the title but disambiguate a single page (Discussion).
- {{db-blankdraft}} was merged into G13 (Discussion)
- A discussion recently closed with no consensus on whether to create a subject-specific notability guideline for theatrical plays.
- There is an ongoing discussion on a proposal to create subject-specific notability guidelines for chemicals and organism taxa.
- Reminders
- NPR is not a binary keep / delete process. In many cases a redirect may be appropriate. The deletion policy and its associated guideline clearly emphasise that not all unsuitable articles must be deleted. Redirects are not contentious. See a classic example of the templates to use. More templates are listed at the R template index. Reviewers who are not aware, do please take this into consideration before PROD, CSD, and especially AfD because not even all admins are aware of such policies, and many NAC do not have a full knowledge of them.
- NPP Tools Report
- Superlinks – allows you to check an article's history, logs, talk page, NPP flowchart (on unpatrolled pages) and more without navigating away from the article itself.
- copyvio-check – automatically checks the copyvio percentage of new pages in the background and displays this info with a link to the report in the 'info' panel of the Page curation toolbar.
- The NPP flowchart now has clickable hyperlinks.

Adminship
I don't suppose you've ever thought about running the gauntlet at RfA, have you? I know we disagreed at DeltaQuad's RfB, but I think it was conducted politely and respectfully; I agree with you in the general principle, just not the specific incident, and you posted the only oppose !vote that didn't attract any criticism or badgering, which shows you can talk a good argument. Elsewhere I see plenty of content creation, thoughtful opinions at AfD, and general air of cluefulness. It would be nice having somebody else closing the "difficult" AfDs as I seem to have been doing rather a lot of those lately, and it would be nice to spread the load a bit. Hi Valereee, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. - Thank you for your work on The Farm Vegetarian Cookbook and on other vegetarian- and vegan-interest articles. Will you be able to modify your The Farm Vegetarian Cookbook article to include the Did you know mention? MaynardClark (talk) 14:50, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- MaynardClark, the DYK mention should go onto the talk page automatically. --valereee (talk) 20:33, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
Reputation Management
I just saw the reputation management page and saw that you might need help to point out the promotional content. For me, I would suggest to remove reputation management companies from this page as it seems promotional.
I have removed for now, not sure if i should ask before removing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:204:1382:E76F:D424:EC92:8835:80EE (talk) 18:42, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- You can remove anything you find that looks promotional! If someone else reverts, it's time to go to the talk page of the article and discuss. Generally that will attract other editors who will come in and check what's going on. If possible, it's a great idea to register an account. Developing an edit history is helpful to other editors. --valereee (talk) 20:39, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
